The soft matte surface of the Brushed Nickel reproduction style pendant hardware is a welcome contrast to the intricate crosscut texture of the antique Holophane glass shade. Such simple style hardware allows the faceted crosscut pattern of the vintage original Holophane shade to shine. The broad square base and ascending stepped pattern of this prismatic Holophane shade reminds us of the ancient ruins of its namesake.
Originally manufactured in the USA (OH/PA/WV) from the 1920’s1950’s, they were used to illuminate our U.S. factories, gymnasiums, power plants, etc.
The marks / imperfections inherent in the glass after decades of use attest to their durability and history.
