Holophane glass was precisely engineered as performance lighting to maximize illumination, hence the strategic cross cut prism ribs. This is a great example of vintage prismatic glass, an original Holophane piece shown on reproduction fittings. Our Vintage Holophane pendants are not reproductions, but decades old originals salvaged from amphitheaters, factories, naval yards, and other industrial buildings throughout America.

Originally manufactured in the USA (OH/PA/WV) from the 1920’s1950’s, they were used to illuminate our U.S. factories, gymnasiums, power plants, etc.

The marks / imperfections inherent in the glass after decades of use attest to their durability and history.
