Outdoor Lighting for a Period Tudor Expansion
The period stone Tudor home featured in this portfolio recently underwent an extensive expansion. The home was enlarged significantly and sweeping patios and terraces were installed around the elegant home. One of the goals of the custom builder was to make a seamless transition from the original home to the new wings. High quality traditional building materials and methods were employed for successful results. Matching cut stone with irregular courses paired with tinted mortar, leaded glass casement windows with arched transoms, and matching ceramic shingles beautifully unite the old and new parts of the asymmetrical Tudor.
Brass Light Gallery outdoor London Lanterns help to complete the effect. A combination of wall mounted lanterns on the home and garage, scroll mounted lanterns on piers along the driveway and patio, and chain hung lanterns in the covered patio add outstanding illumination and appropriate architectural detail to the overall traditional design of the home and grounds. The park-like setting of the suburban Tudor home makes the large yard an ideal location for outdoor entertaining. Family gatherings often include making pizza in the outdoor wood fired pizza oven and playing bocce ball in the grassy court. There are a multitude of teak and wrought iron benches for watching the action or relaxing. Family momentos are thoughtfully placed throughout the yard including a sidewalk clock from the Verdin Company of Cincinnati, Ohio and a hand carved stone plaque. New and gracious landscaping complements the mature trees planted decades ago when the older part of the home was built. The personal touches, attention to detail, and stunning design elements of the Tudor home and garden add up to an exceptional property filled with warmth, elegance, and comfortable style.
